I’m not going to lie; I LOVE maternity photography sessions. In Albuquerque maternity photos are always something a little extra special. I think it because the importance that we put on families.
A maternity is a joyful celebration! The absolute best time for a maternity photo session is usually between 30-36 weeks. My personal preference, as a photographer, is close to 34 weeks. If you are too far along in your pregnancy you may feel uncomfortable during the session or may have your baby before the session date! Too early in your pregnancy and you not have enough of a baby bump to show in your portraits. No matter how pregnancy makes you feel- maybe you are on of the mamas who is glowing from day one, or perhaps very day has been a new struggle- maternity photos take you into a new dimension of glowing pregnancy. During the maternity photos I celebrate you! I want you to LOVE your images, and I want you to be able to treasure this special moment.
As a photographer I have worked with clients as early as 28 weeks in their pregnancy, or as late as 39 weeks! I make sure the angles are flattering, I give you tips on what to wear. Your body has changed, and I make sure that the light around you shows your glowing pregnancy in the absolute best way! I take this time to spoil the mamas to be, because let’s face it- you deserve to be pampered! One of the best parts of maternity sessions is catching on the camera the love that a mama has for her new baby.
Maternity photos are a brilliant celebration of motherhood and priceless heirlooms for your children. I absolutely love it when families include your new baby's brothers and sisters. The way they love snuggling with mom and her belly is so sweet, it makes my heart melt! From little toddlers, to teens about to start their own lives, everyone loves putting a hand on mom’s belly and telling her how much they love her.
